There is no doubt the economic environment the world is in today is challenging.  Although I will argue that Pope and Douglas Counties are less affected than many other parts of the world (U.S.), we are nonetheless still impacted.  As with any challenge we face, it is an opportunity.  The opportunity for Glenwood State Bank is to truly show who we are.  A good friend of mine once told me “You don’t need a bank in the good times.  It is the bad times that really count.”  I have never forgotten that statement.  Not that these are bad times, but we can all agree that they are more difficult than the past few years. 

The reason I do this job day in and day out is to make a difference.  I hope to make a difference in the lives of our employees, the lives of our customers, and the lives of those in the communities we serve.  Nothing is more gratifying than knowing I helped to make a difference in someone’s life.
